Hi my name is Andy Wouda, I live on Thetis Island B.C. I like it very much here. I'm a cook at a little Bible School (Capernwray Harbour) where I feed all the students and some of the staff. I do all this because I love the Lord Jesus Christ, who Lives in me and longs to live through me (if you want to know more ask me) I have been wanting to start a blog for a while. I want to talk about food, and a few other things that might come up a long the way. I hope you enjoy all that you see and hope to see you soon. Oh if you want these are some more thoughts.

    Stuck in your ways!!!

    Jesus Said,

Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

At that time Jesus answered and said, "I praise Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that Thou didst hide these things from {the} wise and intelligent and didst reveal them to babes. "Yes, Father, for thus it was well-pleasing in Thy sight. "All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son, except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal {Him.} "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. "For My yoke is easy, and My load is light." Matthew 11:25-30

I was thinking about being stuck in my ways, I want things my way, in a nice little box wrapped with a bow. It just works better for me this way. I think with that in mind I tend to let things build up and up until I can't even see any more. REST, this is the big word that I need to grab on to, not even the word it self but the concept of it. Jesus said that he would give me rest and as a result I won't need to have things in nice little boxes but it would all be in him. Take time today to seek him. Every day we have this choice to continue to do our own things or to rest. Today choose Rest. It will make a world of difference.

    That's no big fish!!

And walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And He *said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." And they immediately left the nets, and followed Him. And going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the {son} of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them. And they immediately left the boat and their father, and followed Him. (Matthew 4:18-22)

Where in the Bible does it say "you except Jesus and then Life will be good and you can do what you want" or "You do your best and Let Jesus do the rest" I'm not so sure, for my self I have been looking for it and I can't find it. I was reminded today that we come to the ends of our selves and see that we can't live our lives with out Jesus. At that point we come to Him and think we should just live, but really what does Jesus say in the passage? He calls these guys to follow Him, at that point he tells them that they will be fishers of Men.

But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. And when they saw Him, they worshiped {Him}; but some were doubtful. And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. " (Matthew 28:16-20)

I wonder what he really meant, I mean this does not really apply to me does it? I'm a cook, not a pastor or a missionary! NO NOT AT ALL this applies to all of us, He calls us to him self and then tells us to preach the word, does this mean that we will all be Pastors or out in the Mission field, Well depends on what the mission field is, and what the pulpit really is! As far as I'm concerned the Kitchen is the mission field. Summerland is, Canada is!!! We need not be to comfortable in what we have. We seek Jesus in faith, that means we believe him to lead us and to work through us! Oh yeah it is that simple, we just try to make it hard, that's the problem, we make it a hard thing, when Jesus says to us, Let me live through you!

    No sheep left behind

Now all the tax-gatherers and the sinners were coming near Him to listen to Him. And both the Pharisees and the scribes {began} to grumble, saying, "This man receives sinners and eats with them." And He told them this parable, saying, "What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture, and go after the one which is lost, until he finds it? "And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. "And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' "I tell you that in the same way, there will be {more} joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. (Luke 15:1-7)

I wanted to share with those who read this blog of mine, to be reminded that the Lord rejoices over those who seek him, and he longs to look for the one lost sheep, than to be with a bunch that are saved. I pray that he would continue to seek after me. I know that I'm not perfect and need him to continue to lead me in his ways. Oh Lord I pray that I would not be self righteous, but that I would let you rejoice over me again and again.

    Psalm 95

O come, let us sing for joy to the \Lord\; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the \Lord\ is a great God, And a great King above all gods, In whose hand are the depths of the earth; The peaks of the mountains are His also. The sea is His, for it was He who made it; And His hands formed the dry land. Come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the \Lord\ our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you would hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness; "When your fathers tested Me, They tried Me, though they had seen My work. "For forty years I loathed {that} generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways. "Therefore I swore in My anger, Truly they shall not enter into My rest."

If I'm not in his rest then I need to think about being more than 300 Ft. back. Today, if you would hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts. Seek Him the Lord longs to give us rest. Enter His Rest today.
